Week Twelve Weigh In

For those of you that might be wondering, this weekly update will not continue indefinitely.  While it has served a valuable purpose of keeping me and others accountable, knowing that our stats will be publicly displayed to keep us from slacking off, we have three more weeks until it's over.  That will be a total of 15 weeks and 15 posts.  Hopefully we will all be at or near our final goals by then and I thank you, the readers, for following and supporting us on this journey.

If you want to find out what's going on and perhaps join in on the fun and accountability, click here for details.

Here are the stats for this week from those that are currently participating:

Name: Jim
Starting Weight: 211
Goal Weight: 180
Current Weight: 185

Recap: I finally got past the 187 hurdle where I seemed to stall out for two weeks.  I also finally started strength training instead of cardio-only exercising.  A minor injury to my back on Saturday limited my efforts and exertion levels but I still managed a two pound loss for the week.  I am so close to my goal yet it feels so far away.  I really got used to how fast I was shedding the weight at the beginning but now it seems to be a battle for ounces.  I have three more weeks to lose five more pounds but I'd like to get there sooner!

Name:  Pony P.
Starting Weight: 139
Goal Weight: 122
Current Weight:120

Recap: The bladder issue is much better! I did lose a pound this week because I've been so careful with eating but I wore my sweater to get weighed in so they wouldn't give me a hassle about being more than 5 pounds under my official goal weight. It's encouraging that even without running, just walking, I was able to maintain and not gain. That gives me confidence for the future if I ever can't run anymore and have to find other activities to burn calories.  For more details on her progress from week to week be sure to check out her blog located HERE.

Name: Ryan K.
Starting Weight: 258
Goal Weight: 220
Current Weight: 251

Recap: I was making great progress until Tuesday night, when I decided to go on an election-night eating binge.  Doh!  Still I managed to lose one pound from last week's weigh-in.  I figured I better eat now, while I can still afford it.

How about you? Can you stand to drop a few pounds and get into better shape? Want to be brave enough to post your stats publicly on this blog? If so, read the requirements in this kick-off post and submit your information by Wednesday of next week.

Good luck!
